i just have to remind myself. i did the score and music directing for this Dulaang University of the Philippine play OROSMAN AT ZAFIRA. so far, feedback from those who watched and listened to the play is good. but then, there is always room for improvement. i realized how much harder it is to direct people than simply give them instructions and tell them to simply follow. maybe this is why most directors i can think of look old.
it is sometimes tiring to repeatedly remind people to focus and feel. what i sense is missing is the heart and effort to feel, go beyond the ego and lose one' self in the creation (the play itself).
