he left Q.C. last night, his vision, 20/20 left eye, 25/20 right eye. a big achievement indeed when before his second operation, his right eye can only sense movement in bright light. the doctor, some friends, Nazer's parents and myself pulled together the amount to cover for operating room, anesthesia and other expenses.
he had his first operation in Vigan. his parents sold their farms for 44,000 pesos; but the hospital bill went way beyond this figure. weeks after his first, Nazer's right eye developed white tissue inside that blocked his vision.
more than a month of stay in QC, Nazer finally goes back to Abra to catch up with school.
that stray pellet bullet from a kid toy gun gave Nazer and his parents so much trouble. toy guns are real and not things to play with.
